2025 SKYSHINE STEM CHALLENGE

We are thrilled to invite your school to participate in the upcoming Skyshine STEM Challenge, themed “Numbered for Greatness; She Solves, She Shines,” scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2025, at Skyshine School in Mitunguu, Meru County.

This exciting competition aims to ignite innovation and foster academic excellence among Junior Secondary School (JSS) girls in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Skyshine School is a fully registered institution recognized for its academic achievements and nurturing, value-based learning environment, offering education from Pre-primary through Senior Secondary (starting January 2026).

For the first time, Skyshine is collaborating with Tukuze Afrika Foundation, a Kenyan community-based organization advocating for STEM education among children, to bring this Challenge to Meru. Together, we are proud to host this county-wide STEM contest aimed at Grade 7 to 9 girls across Meru County.

**Competition Overview**

The contest will feature two thrilling categories: Mathematics and Integrated Science.

- **Exam Delivery:** Exams will be dispatched to the first 30 registered schools on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
- **Exam Collection:** Completed scripts will be collected on Thursday, September 18, 2025, for centralized marking.
- **Cost:** Participation is entirely free. Schools will incur no costs for exam delivery, collection, or marking.

**Participation Guidelines**

Each school may present up to:
- 2 girls per class (Grades 7, 8, and 9) for Mathematics (a total of 6 girls)
- 2 girls per class (Grades 7, 8, and 9) for Integrated Science (a total of 6 girls)

This allows for a maximum of 12 participants per school. Schools are encouraged to select students with strong aptitude and enthusiasm for STEM subjects.

**Awarding Ceremony**

The awarding ceremony will be held on September 19, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM at Skyshine School.

Winners will receive exciting prizes, including trophies, medals, tablets, premium headphones, cutting-edge tech gadgets, STEM books and resources, branded T-shirts, and much more. Additionally, top performers will enjoy an all-expenses-paid trip to Meru University during Innovation Week, offering a unique opportunity to explore the future of STEM education and careers.

We warmly invite all participating schools and students to attend the award ceremony on September 19, 2025, along with the Head Teacher and at least one STEM teacher.
